Local PASOs Program

The Richland/Lexington PASOs Program began in 2005 with a community grant from the March of Dimes at Palmetto Health Richland hospital. It is now funded primarily by The Duke Endowment and is part of the South Carolina Public Health Institute.

PASOs Prenatal Classes

PASOs offers a prenatal education course in Spanish using a curriculum that is based on Latino cultural values. The course consists of a total of fourteen hours of sharing and discussion. Each session provides information and resources on a range of subjects.

Currently, classes are being offered every Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM alternating every month between the two counties. They are also being offered every third month on Saturdays.

In Lexington County, classes are offered at:
Cristo Rey Lutheran Church
132 Saint David’s Church Road
West Columbia, SC 29170.

Saturday classes are offered when necessary. Upon completion of the course, graduates receive a certificate of completion, a car seat, and a gift bag containing baby clothes and other items.
